DESCRIPTION
BULB:
white, rhizomatous but unbranched, continuously scaly, 15–47 x 35–110 mm.

Zwiebel:
weiss, rhizombildend aber unverzweigt, durchgehend schuppig, 15–47

STEM: up to ~200 cm, not
rooting.

bis ~200 cm, nicht wurzelnd.

LEAVES: in 1-5 whorls (3–18

FLOWERS: 1-31 in a
raceme,
horizontal to nodding, ~trumpet-shaped, shiny texture, fragranted. Tepals
slightly revolute, deep lemon-yellow with sparse small brown spots, 77–107 x
11–21 mm. Filaments bright greenish; anthers brown; pollen vermillion. Capsules 39–59 x 11–17 mm. Seeds
141-303, hypogeal germination in cool
fall conditions. Flowering time May-Sept.
2n=24.

Blüten:
1-15 in einer Rispe, horizontal bis aufrecht, ~trompetenförmig, mit glänzender Textur,
duftend.
Tepalen leicht rückwärts gerollt, tief zitronengelb mit wenigen kleinen braunen Punkten. Filamente hell grünlich; Antheren braun; Pollen ziegelrot.
Kapsel 39–59 x
11–17 mm. Samen 141-303, hypogäische Keimung unter
kühlen Herbstbedingungen.. Blütezeit
Mai-Sept. 2n=24.

Gebirgsbächen, 2000-3000 m.

PECULIARITIES: Most likely the next
relative to L. pardalinum with which it
seems to have a common ancestor.

BESONDERHEITEN: Offenbar sehr nahe
verwandt mit L. pardalinum, mit der
sie wohl einen gemeinsamen Vorfahren besitzt.

|
CULTURE NOTES: Not easy in culture!
Should have good drainage, plenty of moisture during growing season, but
good protection of water in fall and winter. |
|
KULTURHINWEISE: Nicht einfach zu
halten! Gute Drainage, ausreichend Feuchtigkeit während des Wachstums
und Schutz vor Wasser im Herbst und Winter sind essentiell. |
