DESCRIPTION
BULB: oblong or
ovoid, 2.5-4
cm in diameter; scales white, lanceolate to ovate.

BESCHREIBUNG
Zwiebel:
oval bis rundlich, 2.5-4 cm im Durchmesser; Schuppen weiss, lanzettlich bis
oval.
|

STEM: 30-80 cm, up to 120 cm in
cultivation, smooth.

Stängel:
30-80 cm, bis 120 cm in Kultur, glatt.
|
|
LEAVES:
scattered, sessile,
narrowly linear, 4-18 cm x 1-5 mm, margin slightly recurved, papillous.

Blätter:
verteilt, sitzend, schmal linear, 4-18 cm x 1-5 mm, Rand leicht
zurückgebogen, papillös.
|
|
FLOWERS: 1 to 8 in
a raceme, nodding, fragrant. Tepals
strongly revolute (typical turk´s cap shape), pale purple, rosy-lilac or bright-violet with deep purple spots toward
base,
lanceolate to oblong, 35-45 x 8-10 mm; nectaries densely papillous on both
surfaces. Filaments ~20 mm; anthers dark purple, ~14 mm; pollen
vermillion.
Ovary cylindric, 8-10 x 2 mm. Capsule globose to obovoid, 12-20 x 10-15 mm.
Seeds immediate epigeal germination. Flowering time
~July. 2n=24, 25.

1-8 in einer Rispe, nickend, duftend. Tepalen
zurückgebogen (Türkenbundförmig), blass purpurn, rosa-lila oder
hellviolett mit tief purpurnen Punkten in Richtung Basis, lanzettlich bis
spatelig, 35-45 x 8-10 mm; Nektarien dicht papillös auf beiden
Flächen. Filamente ~20 mm; Antheren dunkel purpurn, ~14 mm; Pollen
ziegelrot. Ovar zylindrisch, 8-10 x 2 mm. Kapsel rund bis oval, 12-20 x
10-15 mm. Samen sofortige oberirdische Keimung. Blütezeit ~Juli. 2n=24, 25. |

PECULIARITIES: L.
cernuum is similar to L. pumilum, but is more rosy-lilac to bright
violet, a color which is rather rarely seen in lilies.

BESONDERHEITEN: Lilium cernuum
ist L. pumilum sehr ähnlich, allerdings
fällt erstere besonders durch die rosa-lila bis hellviolette Farbe, die bei Lilien sehr selten
anzutreffen ist.
|
|
CULTURE NOTES: Easy and very
cold-tolerant; rather short lived in cultivation, but can be rather
easily raised by seeds. Also suitable for different types of soil. |

KULTURHINWEISE: Einfach zu halten,
sehr kältetolerant; zwar kurzlebig in Kultur, aber leicht aus Samen zu
ziehen. Toleriert verschiedene Bodentypen. |
