DESCRIPTION

BULB: ovoid, 2-22 cm in diameter; scales white, lanceolate to ovate, 15-18 x 6-8 mm.

BESCHREIBUNG

Zwiebel: rundlich, 2-22 cm im Durchmesser; Schuppen weiss, lanzettlich bis oval, 15-18 x 6-8 mm.

STEM: 15-30 cm, papillous.

Stängel: 15-30 cm, papillös.

LEAVES: 8-12, scattered, narrowly elliptic to oblonge, 28-45 x 2-7 mm, 1-veined.

Blätter: 8-12, verteilt, schmal-elliptisch bis spatelig, 28-45 x 2-7 mm, 1-nervig.

FLOWERS: solitary, nodding, campanulate, fragrant. Tepals rose-purple to soft pink, with purple spots; outer ones lanceolate, 30-40 x 9-10 mm mm, slightly revolute; inner ones ovate-lanceolate or elliptic, 14-15 mm wide. Nectaries green, not papillous. Stamens converging, filaments ~14 mm, anthers ~5 mm. Ovary 8 x 2 mm, style 12-16 mm, stigma ~3 mm in diameter. Seeds immediate epigeal germination. Flowering time ~June. 2n=24.

Blüten: einzeln, nickend, glockenförmig, duftend. Tepalen purpur-rosa bis zart-rosa, mit purpurnen Punkten; äussere lanzettlich, 30-40 x 9-10 mm, leicht gerollt; innere oval-lanzettlich oder elliptisch, 14-15 mm breit; Nektarien grün, nicht papillös. Stamina zusammenneigend; Filamente ~14 mm; Antheren ~5 mm. Ovar 8 x 2 mm. Stylum 12-16 mm, Stigma bis 3 mm. Samen sofortige epigäische Keimung. Blütezeit ~Juni. 2n=24.

ORIGIN: China (Yunnan), grassy places on forest slopes of higher mountainous regions.

Herkunft: China (Yunnan), offene, grasige Areale in höheren montanen Regionen.

PECULIARITIES: A rare species which is considered to be on the borderline to the genus Nomocharis and closely related of L. sempervivoideum (which has more narrow leaves).

BESONDERHEITEN: Eine seltene Art, die als Bindeglied zur Gattung Nomocharis gehalten wird. Nahe verwandt mit L. sempervivoideum (welche schmalere Blätter hat).

CULTURE NOTES: Rather tender species needing frost free sites; doesbest in humus rich sites in half shade.

KULTURHINEISE: Zarte Art, die frostfreie Bedingungen benötigt, am besten an einem humosen Standort im Halbschatten.
